Loss doesn’t mean you have to feel lonely. Mt Hood Hospice offers a variety of free opportunities to connect with others in similar situations as you. These opportunities include educational groups, social hours for open conversation, Facebook groups and more!
There are caregiver groups for family members or friends who are taking care of an adult with a severe illness, groups for those who are adjusting to life after the death of someone important, and groups for those who had challenging relationships with the deceased. A new group to provide discussion and support with non-death losses such as loss of routine, feelings of isolation, and changes in health or employment related to the pandemic will begin in late April. All of these groups are currently happening on Zoom to protect everyone’s health.
If you prefer to interact online on your schedule, the Caregivers Together and Living with Grief Facebook groups are waiting for you to join the conversation. Membership questions are required to help screen for safety of the group. Only members can see the contents of the discussions.
As long as Covid rates remain low, a new in-person program is scheduled to start. Join us for reflection walks at a local park to explore how breath and movement can support us when processing intense emotions and difficult situations.
