Caregivers Together
Mt. Hood Hospice believes there can be grief
as we witness health declines of those we love.
Group Details
Supporting someone during an illness can be beautiful and challenging. As their needs increase, we may notice shifts in our roles, responsibilities and relationships. Anticipatory grief is a common part of the caregiving experience.
Groups are available for those who are taking care of someone with a serious illness to address the grief that comes with witnessing someone’s health decline. They are opportunities to talk with others who share this experience. Phone calls and community groups are free of charge.
Most groups are hosted on Zoom for ease of access unless specified as in-person. Support is available in helping you access internet based groups using a computer, smart phone or a landline.
Groups for Caregivers
If you are a family member or friend caring for an adult with a serious illness, you deserve support too. We offer a variety of groups in addition to the Facebook Group.
Caregivers Together Education Group
This group connects you with other caregivers. We can share the successes, challenges, joys and heartbreak that go along with providing support to someone you love. The shifts that happen in our relationships, responsibilities, and identities will be focal points during supportive conversations. This group has specific topics each week that we discuss.
Caregivers Together Social Hour ON-GOING
This is an informal discussion group where those who attend decide on our topic each week.
Family members or friends who are caring for an adult with a serious illness can connect with other caregivers on Facebook by joining Caregivers Together. See our Facebook Support tab for additional information.
Mornings at Meinig Social Hour In-Person ON-GOING
Currently our only in-person option. We meet in the park once a week weather depending for conversation and support. Our meet ups depend on the weather so make sure to register to get updates each week so you know if we are meeting.
View calendar for details.
If you’d like additional support, see contact information in sidebar.

About Mt. Hood Hospice
Mt. Hood Hospice has been providing care and bereavement support to families in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties for 43 years. We are a not-for-profit, free standing, independent, community-based hospice.
Mt. Hood Hospice was the first free-standing hospice in Oregon to be granted Medicare certification in 1987. Since that time we have stayed current in compliance with changing CMS regulations while remaining true to our original ideal: to provide the highest quality care to families coping with life-limiting illness, emphasizing comfort, dignity and choice.
MT. HOOD HOSPICE CELEBRATES 43 YEARS!
We are a not-for-profit Hospice that provides quality care for terminally ill patients and their loved ones,
regardless of their ability to pay.
Living with a Terminal Illness
When a loved one is diagnosed with a terminal illness, the lives of those close to them are impacted as well. It's important to learn as much as you can about the illness. The more information you have, the more in control you will feel. Learn more.
What You Need to Know
Hospice care is covered 100% by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. You can choose your hospice! Every Medicare beneficiary with Part A entitlement has a Medicare Hospice Benefit allowing them services from ANY Medicare certified hospice. This is regardless of their enrollment in any HMO. We care for people in residential facilities as well as at home. Learn more.

Medicare
We are certified by Medicare, which means we get surveyed every 3 to make sure we are following all state and federal hospice regulations.
